Sue O’Connor

Sue is an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer. Sue is also certified through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as a Senior Fitness Specialist (2014), a Corrective Exercise Specialist (2015), and as a Small Group Personal Training Specialist (2017).

Sue earned a BS in Occupational Therapy from UNH and has practiced as a licensed and registered therapist in a variety of settings including acute care, home care, and outpatient therapy. She continues to provide therapy on a per diem basis at a local rehab hospital; however most days she is found at Jeremy’s Boot Camp in her trainer role.

Sue enjoys working with individuals of any age who want to embark on a fitness program. Of particular interest is an older population. Sue appreciates that fitness, including cardiovascular health, strength, endurance, balance, and coordination/agility are key activities of daily living, leisure pursuits, injury and fall prevention, and ultimately overall independence. Exercise is a great way to be with family and friends. Regular exercise and physical activity can have a huge impact on everyday life.

Of further interest to Sue is working with post rehab individuals: those who have finished a course of skilled therapy yet are not quite ready to return to their previous level of exercise.   Sue, having been injured herself at various times, appreciates the benefit of individual guided corrective exercise as a path back to a person’s previous exercise routine. Sue enjoys developing a working relationship with your physical therapist (or other provider) to ensure a safe transition back to a gym setting.

Personally, Sue enjoys a regular fitness routine for a variety of reasons. Fitness and sporting activities have always been a family affair. Her children caught the bug early, and Sue, along with her husband Sean, have 3 adult children who are expert skiers and enjoy other athletic pursuits. Now that their daughter has graduated college, finishing up a college lacrosse career, Sue and Sean have more time to enjoy hiking, cycling, skiing, stand up paddle boarding and walking their pup, Brodie. When asked, “why do you exercise, what are you training for?” The answer is simple: “Training for life”.

Sue would like to help others do the same! Sue can be contacted at 603-491-0960 or at enhancefit4function@gmail.com
